Maryland 2 Palestine is organizing for a world where Palestinians and marginalized peoples are free from the shackles of colonialism, imperialism and state-sanctioned violence.
We believe that liberation will come from Palestinians in Palestine and in exile. We seek to unite with Palestinians on the ground resisting ongoing settler-colonialism in heroic struggle.
We believe that the liberation of Palestine includes the right of return for all Palestinian refugees across historic Palestine.
We believe in the people's right to self-determination in the international context. We seek accountability for U.S. polices that extend the occupation's practices both here and abroad.
During the 2021 Unity Intifada Uprising when Palestinians from across historic Palestine, refugee camps and the diaspora came together to resist settler colonialism and bombings on Gaza, we took action locally by organizing teach-ins and direct actions to build power in our communities. We held an escalatory action at Rep. Raskin’s district office where more than 250 community members came out in support demanding Raskin sign onto HR 2590 and make a public statement supporting freedom for all incarcerated people (#FreeThemAll). Now as MD2Palestine, we aim to connect and dismantle systems of oppression from the U.S. to Palestine. We're advocating locally across Maryland to uplift and center Palestinian voices while fighting for Palestinian liberation.
We acknowledge that the land from which we organize is the traditional unceded territory of the Piscataway and Nacotchtank People. We recognize the painful history of genocide and forced removal from this territory, and we honor and respect the many diverse indigenous people forever connected to this land.
